This beginner sewing pattern is a great place to start if you're new to making clothes for yourself. The fit is simple and created by rectangular pattern shapes and elastic. You can make a dress or top using this method for both adults and children! The dress features elastic around the high bust point and optional elastic around the middle. The top features elastic around the high bust and also under bust. All designs are finished with ties for the shoulder straps but again, these are optional if you wanted to go strapless.
The construction of the dress or top will teach you how to sew a french seam! Don't be scared by this, I will teach you step by step how to sew it. You've got this!
